The US Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census, is gearing up for the 2010 Census. This is a massive undertaking that, according to the US Constitution, is conducted every ten years. The goal is to count every single person living in the United States every ten years. The statistical information becomes the basis for the distribution of a significant amount of Federal Funds.
The US Census is at the early operations stage of this project. In the 4 County area of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Hernando and Pasco, it is anticipated that approximately 1,000 Part Time Temporary jobs will be created between now and 2010. Each job pays well above the minimum wage, anywhere between $10 per hour and $16 per hour. Each position lasts for 5-10 weeks, and there are some that will last longer. Hours are flexible from 10 to 40 hours per week. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The hiring process requires that an application be filled out and a test be completed.
